Processing Details:
Draw blood in a Greiner Z trace element no-additive navy blue tube.
Allow to clot 30 minutes and spin.
Remove the stopper and carefully pour serum into a Mayo metal-free, screw-capped polypropylene transfer vial.
Do not use a pipet or wooden sticks to assist in the transfer of the specimen.

Patient preparation:
High concentrations of gadolinium and iodine are known to interfere with most metal tests. If either gadolinium or iodine containing contrast media has been administered, a specimen should not be collected for 96 hours.
