Test Name:Programmed Death-Ligand 1 (PD-L1) (22C3), semi-quantitative immunohistochemistry
Test Number:Path Add-on
Collect:Tissue; Formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissue block
Container:FFPE tissue block
Processing:Submit processed tissue block (preferred) or
3 unstained glass, "positively charged" slides with 4-microns formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue
Transport/Stability:Ambient (preferred)
Alternate Names:GPPDL122C3
Performing Lab:Mayo Clinic Laboratories (PDL12); R
Days Set Up:Mo - Fr
Expected TAT:5 - 7 days
Ref. Ranges:This test will be reported as percent tumor cells positive and whether greater than or equal to 5% of immune cells express programmed cell death 1-ligand 1 (PD-L1) or not. For gastric and gastroesophageal junctional adenocarcinoma, PD-L1 will be reported as combined positive score (CPS).
Processing Details:
Useful for:
Identification of neoplasms expressing programmed cell death 1-ligand 1 (clone 22C3)

This test has been validated for nondecalcified paraffin-embedded tissue specimens fixed in 10% neutral-buffered formalin. This assay has not been validated on tissues subjected to the decalcification process or the use of alternative fixatives for bone and bone marrow specimens or cell blocks.

A pathology/diagnostic report and a brief history are required.
Method:Immunohistochemistry on sections of paraffin-embedded tissue using Dako PD-L1 clone 22C3. (Unpublished Mayo method)
